The B-Side Players are a 9-piece band part of a new movement in popular music. A band that honors the international cross-pollination that has always made music the universal language. They use any beat that catches their ear, regardless of geography or genre, to create a compelling, horn driven polyrhythmic groove. They continue exploring the multifaceted grooves of Latin America and the Caribbean, incorporating the sounds of
Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil with the funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop rhythms of their homeland, dropping bits of Cumbia, Salsa, gritty street Samba, Son Montuno, Jarocho and Boogaloo into the mix.
The B*Side Players have been laying down their own inimitable latin global funk since they came together in 1994.Their incendiary live shows have defined them as local favorites with 10 San Diego Music awards. Meanwhile their albums showcase a band with restless musical intelligence, effortlessly blending genres to fashion their own forward
looking, latin flavored soul music. As an eight piece band the players are known for igniting crowds with their fierce rhythms and uplifting message of unity and consciousness. Meanwhile always keeping their focus on the political climate of the world and nation. The B-Side Players are a living and breathing cultural art experience for the mind
body and soul.

The Zendrum is not a typical instrument and it is used by Joaquin Hernandez to continue playing music due to the disabling effects of Focal Dystonia in the right hand. Focal Dystonia is a genetic nervous disorder that surfaced after years of playing the drums. There is no known cure for Focal Dystonia at this moment so a doctor told Jack do something or try and figure out another way to play. That reinvention and new inspiration led to the heavy programming of sequencers and with midi machines to create music.
Cumbia Machin has provided opening stage support for:
Bomba Estereo, Botellita De Jerez, Mexican Institute Of Sound, Mexican Dubwisser, La Santa Cecillia, Very Be Careful, and Sonidero Travesura

Sister Speak is the recording alias for Canadian singer and guitarist Sherri Anne. Hailing originally from Canada’s west coast and southern California, Sister Speak’s sound is a fusion of alternative, folk, indie and world music influences, with Sherri Anne’s soulful vocals and guitar playing at the forefront. Sister Speak tours the Love For All album, now out on vinyl record, during the "Dance to the Rhythm" summer tour through Germany, USA and Canada.
Sister Speak has toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, and has released four critically acclaimed albums to date, each of them "a result of moments of extreme vulnerability transformed into music," says Sherri Anne. Sister Speak is known for powerful live performances and socially conscious lyrics. She has a dedicated fanbase and has gained popularity through her acoustic performances, band concerts, songwriting and recordings.
Recently, Sister Speak has supported reggae legend Don Carlos, Air Supply and The Doobie Brothers. In addition, she has performed at festivals alongside acts such as Mary Lambert, The Wailers and Dan Mangan, among others. Her music has been featured on CBC, BBC, NPR, “California Roots Presents” playlists, and various radio stations around the world. In California, Sister Speak was voted "Best Pop" at the San Diego Music Awards and "Top 10 Rhythm Guitarist" by NBC, and partnerships formed with sponsors Taylor Guitars and D'addario (strings). Fourth record, Love For All (L’Amour Pour Tous), now out on vinyl record, features award-winning musicians and engineers and both a festive and vulnerable voyage of songs.
The album was co-produced by Stephen Haaker (drummer of Loveless) and Brett Grossman.
Whether performing as a band or acoustic, Sister Speak aims to share a positive message through her music while supporting the authentic expression of the woman's voice.
